A Perfect Pair: Vintage Walter Lamb Chairs & Otttoman

Even though its raining today in La Jolla, I can perfectly envision what these impeccable vintage Walter Lamb copper and rope chairs would look like on my deck. These mid-century chairs and ottoman have the most gorgeous patina and are in near-perfect condition. Sigh. These chairs were designed in the 1940s by Walter Lamb. Working with salvaged bronze pipe from sunken naval ships at Pearl Harbor and yacht roping, Lamb created the prototypes of his classic outdoor colllection for Brown Jordan. $3500 for the set.

Curiosities.

We've been working hard on making the store look intriguing and polished...with our constant flow of goods it can be challenging but this display is hands down my favorite ever! Customers always say that they love the store because we always have such unique and interesting things..well this is our response to that..welcome to our Curiosity Shop...

Curios galore! A beloved vintage work bench anchors our window display.

A pair of love birds and their nest forever together in a vintage bell jar.
Framed in shadow boxes, these giant insects are wonders of nature.
A vintage book press rests on bound archives of the New York Times.

A lovely vintage dress mold with cast iron base.

A vintage metal globe.

Vintage metal letters never get old!

I always wonder what letters were typed out on this antique typewriter..

Imagine all the wine that fit in these vintage wine jugs!!

Here is a close-up of the still-working clamp on the vintage work bench.
Instead of throwing out the pages of a bound NYT archive book that fell apart, we re-purposed the pages of history as wall-paper.

Vintage Gucci Lamp

Who knew Gucci made such fabulous LAMPS???? We don't know much about it yet, but from the looks of the wiring we're guessing 50's or 60's. The detailing on the brass rope is to die for and the rope finial is the coup de grace! This is nautical, italian style!! Until we learn more about this beauty, the lamp is not for sale. We would love any information or nudges in the right direction.
